Jacksonville police believe shootings involve juveniles; chief pushing to charge them as adults

This house in the 600 block of Jordan Street has been hit by gunfire twice within the past week. Several police departments are investigating the incidents and believe the shooters are from the Jacksonville area and southern Illinois and that the shootings are feud-related. Shots also were fired Tuesday evening on North Clay Avenue and Allen Street.Darren Iozia | Journal-Courier
Jacksonville Police Chief Adam Mefford is not taking a spree of shootings here during the past week lightly, cautioning Thursday that “that behavior will not be tolerated in the community.”
