JACKSON, Mississippi -- Three suspects, including two Jackson County residents, were among those arrested in a week-long effort to uncover child exploitation.
The Mississippi Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, operated by the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, initiated the effort, dubbed “Operation Bad Santa.” In conjunction with its partner organizations, the ICAC used online, undercover and traditional investigative work to locate suspects attempting to lure children to meet for sex or asking them to participate in child pornography.
“Unfortunately, child exploitation cases are on the rise as predators seek to exploit the increasing number of children and teenagers using the internet unsupervised,” said Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch. “I am committed to putting an end to the victimization of our most vulnerable through child exploitation and pornography.
