A Hall of Fame trainer has replaced Louisville rapper Jack Harlow in the "Riders up" call at the Kentucky Derby less than an hour before the annual tradition.
Churchill Downs spokesman Darren Rogers tweeted from the Kentucky Derby Media account trainer 85-year-old D. Wayne Lukas would be performing the duties instead of the Grammy nominee.
When Rogers was asked about why Harlow was no longer doing the call, he said in an email, "Unsure of any details at this time."
The traditional command for jockeys to mount their horses in advance of the upcoming race has been reserved at the Kentucky Derby for the past several years for a celebrity attendee.
