Italy: the Calabrian town that's standing up to the mafia

Michele Tripodi, the mayor of Polistena, and Don Pino De Masi, a priest, have been working for years to strengthen popular resistance against corruption and the mafia. Today, thanks to a clause in Italian law which allows assets confiscated from organised crime groups to be used for social purposes, the small Calabrian town is able to host a summer camp inside an old building that was once owned by the 'ndrangheta.
