Italy opens fresh trial for student killing in Cairo – DW – 02/20/2024

Four Egyptian officials are going on trial in absentia for the 2016 torture and death of Italian student Giulio Regeni. The 28-year-old was abducted and killed in Cairo while conducting research for his doctoral thesis.
