While honoring the passing of brother firefighter Carl Easterday at his funeral, no one could have imagined the series of events that happened. The story — as told by historian Barry Herschler.
Barry and Casey Easterday met at Wise Funeral Home late in March to discuss arrangements for Carl and the role the fire department would have for the funeral. The pallbearers would include Carl’s grandsons, Clay and Chase Easterday, Bucyrus Chief Chad Schwemley and firefighters Barry Hershler, Rob Meredith, Grey Hershey, Kevin Phillips, Brett Young, Jeremy Gillam, Eric McNutt and Casey Gillen.
