THE views of Mackay Regional councillors who were vehemently opposed to Sunday trading had too much influence on the initial decision to reject an application for seven-day shopping in Mackay.
The Industrial Court of Queensland president David Hall said the panel of three commissioners in charge of the inquiry were “wrong” to engage with the anti-Sunday trading councillors in an informal discussion about seven-day shopping at Mackay last year.
