And that is just a few of the accolades the book ‘Firekeeper’s Daughter’ is getting!
Author Angeline Boulley is a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. The story is set in Sault Ste Marie and Angeline describes it as an “indigenous Nancy Drew.”
This is Angeline’s first book. She first thought of the idea when she was 18 years-old, but then life happened. She was finally able to release the book earlier this year, at 55 years old, and it has been met with tremendous success.
The four’s Xavier Hershovitz sat down with Angeline to talk about her inspiration for the book, her journey in writing it and what she hopes people take away from the story. Watch their conversation above.
