Iraq officials: Explosion in northern Iraq kills 9 policemen

IRBIL, Iraq (AP) — An explosive device went off in northern Iraq on Sunday, killing at least nine members of the Iraqi federal police force who were on patrol, Iraqi security officials said. Among the fatalities was an officer with the rank of major, according to a tweet from a military spokesman, Yahya Rasool.
