NEW AT NOON, THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES IS INVESTIGATING REPORTS OF SICK AND DEAD GEESE IN THE STATE. IT’S HAPPENING NEAR THE DAM OF THE IOWA RIVER IN CORALVILLE. VOLUNTEERS HAVE DISCOVERED MORE THAN 50 DEAD GEESE. THEY WERE ABLE TO RESCUE DOZENS OF OTHERS THAT WERE SICK. THE SYMPTOMS APPEAR TO BE NEUROLOGICAL AND SOME ARE EXPERIENCING SEIZURES. ONE VOLUNTEER SAYS SHE’S TAKEN DOZENS OF GEESE HOME WITH HER UNTIL THEY CAN BE MOVED TO LOCAL REHABILITATION CENTERS. >> I TOOK MY COAT OUT OF THE CAR AND I PUT IT AROUND THIS GOOSE BECAUSE IT WAS SHIVERING AND HAVING SEIZURES.
