Investigation underway after body found in ditch in Screven Co.

SCREVEN COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - The Screven County Sheriff’s Office confirmed an investigation is underway after a body was found in a ditch in the county.
The sheriff’s office received the report of a dead body located in a ditch along Highway 21 about a half mile south of Sylvania on Thursday at approximately 7 p.m.
According to the sheriff’s office, the deceased has been identified as 61-year-old Thomas Winston.
The cause of death is being investigated by the Georgia State Patrol and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
