When Saugeen Shores voters go to the polls 18 months from now they will cast ballots using the Internet or telephone to elect a new slate of Town councillors and school board trustees.
On the advice of Town Clerk Linda White, councillors passed a bylaw April 26 for the system that is convenient – electors can vote anywhere using a computer, tablet or phone, 24/7, until 8 p.m. on Election Day – and requires less staff time.

In a report White said there are pros and cons to the voting processes, but following the October 2018 election a survey found 83 percent of respondents supported Internet voting and 48 percent supported using the telephone in the 2022 election.
