Inspirational ex-Harrogate student is named in Queen's Birthday Honours list as North Yorkshire community stalwarts are recognised
A brave Knaresborough woman who went to school in Harrogate has been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours for her remarkable work on road safety.

Flashback to 2018 - Inspirational Lauren Doherty (with Jubel Ahmed and Clare Flynn) takes her Road Safety Talk to pupils at Harrogate High School.
Lauren Doherty, who is to receive the BEM for services to education, has shown remarkable strength of character since she was in an accident crossing the road on Skipton Road in August 2008.
