Interview | Infrastructure Projects Authority director on achieving ‘world class’ delivery
While some teenagers might dream of becoming a footballer or a pop star, Jon Loveday had his sights firmly set on a career in infrastructure.
His boyhood ambition was to become a quantity surveyor. “It’s a bit sad to admit,” he laughs, “But I’ve got that in one of my school reports from when I was a 15 year old.”
Starting out as a quantity surveyor, Loveday says he spent the first 10 years of his career working for Wimpey Homes, Robinson & White and SDC Builders on a diverse range of infrastructure projects across the UK, before moving to the client side to gain experience with firms including BT and Thames Water.
