Highly infectious variants of coronavirus could be fuelling more frequent leaks from hotel quarantine across Australia, scientists warn, after three new cases in a week connected with Victoriaâs isolation program.
The latest person to test positive for the virus â a woman in her early 50s â had been working as an authorised officer at the Holiday Inn near Melbourne Airport, a âcoldâ quarantine hotel which is not dedicated to confirmed cases of COVID-19.
