INDIANA SCHOOL BOARD PASSES BUDGET, APPROVES HIRING COMMITTEE FACILITATOR FOR GRADE CONFIGURATION DISCUSSION

On Monday night, the Indiana School Board approved their 2021-2022 budget, and it had some positive changes due to the budget being passed in Harrisburg.
On Friday, the PA House and Senate both approved the 2021-2022 state budget, and Governor Tom Wolf said he would sign the budget this week. The budget provided the district with a substantial increase, according to the audit and finance chairperson, Julia Trimarchi-Cuccaro.
In other business, the board approved by a 7-1 vote to hire Strategies Solutions, Inc to facilitate committee meetings regarding the discussion of the future grade configuration and facility use of the buildings in the district, pending receipt of favorable references. Superintendent Michael Vuckovich said that the board wants to collect input from the public on what is being considered as a difficult topic.
