The Indiana Pacers are looking for a head coach ... again.
Less than a year after firing Nate McMillan due, in part, to his 3-16 record in the first round of the playoffs, the Pacers fired his replacement, Nate Bjorkgren, when he couldn't get the franchise out of the play-in tournament. Here's a look at some possible candidates:
Kenny Atkinson
Atkinson was fired from the Brooklyn Nets during the 2019-20 season after compiling a 118-190 record. His reputation, however, exceeds his record as he took a rebuilding Nets roster and turned it into a playoff team around the culture he was able to develop. But the team fired him this season before he could coach superstars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, who sat out most of this season with injuries. That culture could be appealing to the Pacers after dealing with an unstable locker room this season.
