NEW DELHI, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- India's government-run telecom company, the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), on Thursday launched a satellite-based "Narrow Band-Internet of Things" (NB-IoT), which would allow access to a ubiquitous fabric of connectivity for millions of yet unconnected machines, sensors and industrial IoT devices.
An official statement issued by the federal Ministry of Communications said that the BSNL has partnered with another company "Skylotech India" for this endeavour.
"This is in pursuance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a truly Digital India, starting with fishermen, farmers, construction, mining and logistics enterprises," added the ministry's statement.
