India COVID patients treated by Lakewood NJ doctors through telehealth

Each night around 9:30 p.m., after working as physicians at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood, Drs. Avinash and Geeta Gupta log into Zoom to help people on the other side of the world.
The husband-and-wife team from Toms River use the hard lessons they learned battling the pandemic here in New Jersey to advise patients in India as COVID-19 overwhelms the hospital system there.
“Last year we passed through a very critical phase here in America and we had the experience, and this year India is passing through a similar if not worse phase,” said  Avinash Gupta, who is chief of cardiology at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus.
