KANSAS CITY, Mo. — With an Arctic blast expected to arrive in the Kansas City area this weekend, the city of Independence will open the Roger T. Sermon Community Center to serve as a warming center.
The facility will be open as a warming center from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Wednesday.
