Independence Day: 954 police medals, including 230 for gallantry, announced on Independence Day eve

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has announced that a total of 954 police personnel have been awarded Police Medals on the occasion of the 76th Independence Day. The Central Reserve Police Force's Assistant Commandant Loukrakpam Ibomcha Singh has been awarded the President's Police Medal for Gallantry (PPMG). Among the awardees, 229 police personnel have received the Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG), 82 personnel have received President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PPM) and 642 personnel have received the Police Medal for Meritorious Service (PM).
