In State of the Tribes speech, a sharp break from COVID-19 optimism in South Dakota
Chairman Mike Faith of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe delivered the annual "State of the Tribes" address in Pierre, S.D., on Thur., Jan. 14. Contrary to speeches the previous two days by state officials, Faith spoke in more deeply somber tones about the deadly impact of the coronavirus pandemic on his reservation, acknowledging "it changed our life forever."
