WOMEN FIRST TIME LISTED AS JURORS IN MONTG. COURTS â Two of the cases called were deemed unfit for the gentle ears to listen to, and the jurors were excused by agreement of counsel ... The Court House is all "dolled up" for the advent of the fair ones. The jury rooms had been renovated, new rugs laid on the floor, and the signs against smoking stand out prominently. In one juryroom, a dozen jurymen sat under the sign and smoked contentedly. There were no women around, so the violation was null and void.
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS BEGIN "COUNTRY GENTLEMAN" CAMPAIGN â The students of the Souderton High School are conducting a campaign during this week â February 11th-18th, to secure subscriptions to the "Country Gentleman," a farm weekly, and through their enterprise hope to secure $100 for the High School fund. The Curtis Publishing Co. has placed the "Country Gentleman" within the reach of every one by making the subscription price only $1.00 per year of 52 issues, less than two cents a week.Â
