CLEVELAND, Ohio — Katie Leimkuehler was 8 years old when her grandfather died. Her memories are long, though her time with him was short.
She remembers playing on the floor with him and her cousins, when he would take off his prosthetic leg, as if to prove that there was nothing awkward or unusual about his physical differences.
