The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued "red" and "orange" alerts for Himachal Pradesh due to continued heavy rainfall, with flash floods warning in several districts. Senior IMD Scientist Sandeep Kumar Sharma says "a red alert has been issued for very heavy rainfall" in multiple areas.
