ILO and AU launch the International Year for the Elimination of Child Labour paving the way for greater collaboration among stakeholders in Africa

Côte d'Ivoire, 1 April 2021 -- The African Union (AU), in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), launched the International Year for the Elimination of Child Labour in Africa with a three-hour virtual event on Wednesday. The launch provided a platform for African and multi-stakeholders to discuss the progress and remaining gaps in the fight against child labour in the continent.
United Nations member States have renewed their commitment with the adoption of UN Resolution 72/327 that declares 2021 as the International Year for the Elimination of Child Labour.
