An Illinois man wanted after being accused of cashing bogus checks in Iowa City and Coralville back in 2018 was arrested Monday.
Police say the incident occurred on August 31
st of that year. 39-year-old Donald Hill of Cordova allegedly produced two forged checks to Midwest One Bank for payment. Hill brought one check to the South Clinton Street branch in Iowa City, and the other to the Coralville branch on First Avenue. Each check was written for $2475.
Hill allegedly forged his name on both checks and used his Illinois ID for identification. The business on the fraudulent checks verified with authorities that they didn’t produce or authorize any checks for Hill.
