12/21/20 - Northampton - U.S. Army veteran Kevin James Bates, 68, receives the first COVID-19 vaccine administered at the VA Central Western Healthcare System in Northampton on Monday.

Thirty patients in the long-term care facility at the VA Central Western Healthcare System received the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine Monday, according to a spokesman for the facility.
Staff who care for the primarily elderly residents also received the vaccine. An exact number of doses delivered to the facility in the Leeds section of Northampton was not available.
