The pandemic’s real impact on the administration of justice in our state has not yet been felt, the Honorable Glenn A. Grant, acting administrative director of the New Jersey Courts, recently told the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee. If the historic shortage of state court judges is not immediately addressed, backlogged cases and new litigation will overwhelm the judiciary as we return to normalcy through vaccination.
