IDPH reporting 5 new virus deaths in Riverbend

WOOD RIVER — Five Riverbend area deaths were among the 123 COVID-19 related deaths cited Friday by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH).
The deaths included a Macoupin County woman in her 90s and four Madison County women, three in their 80s and one in her 90s.
The IDPH also reported 6,642 new confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases on Friday for a total to date of 1,059,324 cases, including 18,049 deaths.
Late Thursday the Madison County Health Department reported three new COVID-19 related deaths — one woman in her 80s and two women in their 90s — to take the county’s virus death toll to 399.
