Australia’s biggest miners and resources companies took the first step to fix the problem of sexual harassment in the industry this week by publicly acknowledging there was an issue.
Media reports on three investigations, including a rape allegation, involving staff from contractors and iron ore companies or at fly-in fly-out worksites in Western Australia has brought the issue to the forefront but the true scale of harassment for female workers in the male-dominated sector is not clear.
