The China-Central Asia Summit was held in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, May 5-18. Xu Qinhua, deputy dean of the National Institute of Development and Strategy of Chinese Minmin University, said it is the first time China has held a summit in physical form since the establishment of diplomatic relations with the five Central Asian countries. Qinhua believes that all parties attending the meeting are expected to achieve fruitful results in many fields and achieve the strengthening of bilateral and multilateral relations. She said the ancient Silk Road has greatly promoted exchanges and mutual learning between China and Central Asia.
