Iain Robertson Rambles: River City star tackles the West Highland Way

No, rambles – as in walking the West Highland Way. A new two-part BBC Scotland documentary follows the River City and Small Faces star as he sets out to complete the 96-mile route from Milngavie to Fort William.

According to Robertson: "I've always been a rambler. There's nothing I love more than sauntering through the well-trodden paths of Scotland. I'd been wanting to give the West Highland Way another go having a couple of failed attempts in my youth."

A heart-warming and humorous video diary charts his progress through the majesty of Scotland's scenery. The opening episode covers the 47-mile stretch to the halfway point at Crianlarich. Joining Robertson for the first 20 miles is actor Steven Duffy, who played his brother in Small Faces.
