I know others are lonely in lockdown, but I'd give anything for a minute to myself
Lockdown can be a lonely time, but for those of us suddenly living in each other’s pockets, a bit of solitude is hard to find

As a home-working freelancer, I used to be alone for most of the week. My husband went to his office and our three adult offspring had all flown the nest. He now works from home and, at various points since Covid hit, our kids have come back to live with us. The nest is pretty full and I crave solitude like a glass of sauvignon on a Friday night. It’s not as if I want to get up to anything devious. I’d just like 10 minutes to sit quietly and make a shopping list.
