Ames-area travelers may have to adjust their routes as a bridge repair project is expected to cause detours through this fall.
The repairs, on north- and southbound I-35 bridges over U.S. Highway 30, were set to close ramps at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, lasting until Nov. 24, according to a news release from the Iowa Department of Transportation's Jefferson construction office.
The DOT described the detours as follows:
Southbound I-35 traffic wanting to travel east on U.S. 30 will need to exit onto westbound U.S. 30 (exit 111B), travel west on U.S. 30 and exit at Dayton Avenue (exit 150) and then turn back onto U.S. 30. and travel east.
