Hyperion Materials & Technologies has acquired two companies, expanding the reach of the Worthington-based specialist in super-hard materials.
Hyperion this week announced that it bought Crafts Technology, an Illinois-based manufacturer of custom cemented carbide products. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“This move positions us as a leading provider of finished tailor-made tungsten carbide components used in demanding applications for critical end-user markets that include aerospace, automotive, precision rotary cutting, medical, electronics, and fluid handling and dispensing," said Hyperion CEO Ron Voigt in a news release.
Jeffrey Taylor will remain as president of Crafts, which employs more than 40 workers.
The Crafts purchase follow Hyperion's January purchase of NanoDiamond Products, an Irish manufacturer of synthetic diamonds. NanoDiamond employs more than 20 workers.
