Hydrant flushing begins Monday in American Township
AMERICAN TOWNSHIP — American Township Fire Department personnel will begin spring fire hydrant maintenance and flushing beginning Monday.
Residents may notice a discoloration of water when flushing is in their neighborhood and should let water run from a cold water tap until it clears.
According to Fire Chief Thomas Hadding, the annual hydrant flushing is necessary to maintain a good water supply for firefighting and to ensure hydrants are in good working order.
