A HUSBAND has re-enacted the moment he proposed to his wife as the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
Amidst the lockdown and the pandemic Mick, 73 and Linda Fuller, 72, returned to Blackburn Cathedral, where they married 50 years ago, on March 6, 1971.
What can only be described as one of the most heart-warming moments of the past year, on the very same day and time of the ceremony, Mick got down on one knee to propose to Linda on the Wainwright Bridge - formerly ‘the iron bridge’ - in Blackburn.
Daughter Leigh Fuller said: “My dad wanted to re-create the proposal on the iron bridge and whilst he tried to keep it a surprise it was difficult to come up with an excuse as to why they were going there.
