Nicholas Firkus, 38, was taken into custody in St. Paul, Minnesota on Wednesday on suspicion of murdering his 25-year-old wife Heidi back in 2010
Police have not released any details on what led to Firkus' arrest in the cold case
Heidi was shot dead in the early hours of April 25, 2010, in the St. Paul home she shared with her then 27-year-old husband
Firkus told police at the time an intruder had broken in and grabbed his shotgun
