Hurricane Idalia makes landfall in Florida with catastrophic storm surge

Hurricane Idalia dropped down to a Category 3 hurricane prior to landfall near Keaton Beach in the Big Bend region of the Gulf. The fast-moving storm careened inland and crossed into Georgia in late morning, leaving more than 200,000 without power.
