The Huron County Board of Commissioners voted to extend a local state of emergency lasting until May 25, 2021, unless the board takes further action.
The state of emergency only allows all units of government within Huron County to continue holding their meetings virtually under the Michigan Open Meetings Act.
The office of emergency management will continue to be a liaison and coordinate with state and federal authorities for assistance related to the pandemic.
Tuscola and Sanilac counties have also recently passed their own emergency orders allowing government meetings to continue virtually.
