Crisppis Chicken hosted a customer appreciation event April 2, 2024 after a weekend of back-and-forth social media posts regarding negativity they claim to have received in Huntington. Kirk Hightower, manager and marketing director of Crisspis, said the restaurant in the 800 block of 3rd Avenue in downtown Huntington opened in December and featured a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony with its key investor, Marshall University and NFL football legend Randy Moss. According to Hightower, the business has been the target of negativity since it opened. He said he decided to post videos to Crisppis Facebook page after he felt the brand was being attacked and disrespected in social media posts by a group of negative people in the community.
