Sanna Marin’s Social Democratic Party (SDP) continues to be Finland’s most popular political party, with backing rising by 0.6 percentage points to 21.4 percent, according to a survey published by the leading daily Helsingin Sanomat (HS) on Wednesday.
The main opposition Finns Party also gained support in the paper’s latest poll. Their backing rose by 0.7 percentage points to 20.6 percent, putting a less than one percentage point difference between them and the SDP.
The Green Party, a government partner, saw their support drop the most, by 1.2 percentage points to just under 10 percent, according to HS. The party has not seen single-digit backing since the summer of 2015.
