Each year, drownings are reported across Colorado from flat water and swift water situations. Some of the individuals who have died were fishing from shore, or drowned in fairly shallow water due to hazards.
Only two of Colorado's National Parks allow for swimming. However, the NPS offers a website, nps.gov/findapark, to help visitors decide what park would best suit their recreation needs.
