"A lot of people are getting permits, and sometimes we don't have room anymore," Alcantara said.
A permit allows a person to use a pavilion for a barbecue or other gatherings until the parks close. The agency continues to provide permits, subject to availability.
The parks involved are Ypao Beach, Matapang Beach, Nimitz Beach, Inarajan Park, and Ipan Beach Park, all of which have pavilions for rent. "Aside from Ypao, Nimitz and Inarajan Park, both have a big pavilion," Alcantara said.
How much
A small pavilion costs $15 to rent. A large pavilion costs $75. Both fees come with another $75 deposit, in case of families choosing to trash the areas.
