Edna the caring dachshund cross dog is the much deserved winner of the Dorset Echo's Pet Idol competition.
The little dog scooped the title after beating off competition from 150 entries and was singled out for the love she has shown her owner Mica Stanfield in her time of need.
Mica, 25, of Weymouth, suffered a stroke in September 2019 and was diagnosed with a hole in her heart.
The love of Edna, who was only seven months old at the time, and her furry sibling Bernadette, another dachshund, really helped Mica through ill health.
The physiotherapist, who works at Westhaven Hospital in Weymouth, said: "When I had the stroke both Edna and Bernadette sat with me until the ambulance arrived. When I was on the stroke ward the matron even let them onto the ward to see me."
