HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Cloud cover is expected to increase throughout the day Monday and into Monday night. Even with the extra clouds, temperatures are still expected to climb into the mid 80s. Also Monday night, we will have a slight chance of rain. Scattered storms are expected to move east from the Austin and San Antonio areas but they should weaken as they move towards Southeast TX.
Rain chances go up slightly Tuesday and Wednesday as a weak cool front moves slowly through the area.
What can we expect for the work week?
Moisture will return this week bringing back more cloud cover and some rain chances. A slight chance of rain is in the forecast for Monday night but most of us will stay dry. Rain chances decrease to 20% for Thursday before bumping back up to 40% on Friday as our next disturbance interacts with the Gulf moisture in place. In terms of temperatures, we should start off with highs in the 80s, but the second half of the week will be slightly cooler with highs in the upper 70s.
