The Massachusetts House overwhelmingly approved a $600 million bond bill Tuesday, pushing the effort to build a new Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke one step forward.
All 160 members present voted to support the bill. It now will go to the Senate for a vote on Thursday. If it passes, it will head to Gov. Charlie Baker for final approval.
The House and Senate on Monday adopted compromise legislation that provides for a new $400 million Soldiers’ Home, as well as $200 million for additional veterans services across the state.
