In the early morning of July 2, flames tore through a Chestermere home on Oakmere Close. Three adults and four children from two related families died in the fire, while a man and four other children managed to escape.

The cause of the fire has not been released, but RCMP said in a news release on Monday that an investigation with the Chestermere Fire Department and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has determined the blaze was not suspicious in nature.
