On Monday, Londoners were taking particular advantage of the city’s 17 spray pads.
“They are extremely busy,” Lynn Loubert, city manager of aquatics, arenas and parks operations, said. “We had a very warm summer to date and they’re being very well used.”
Spray pads are also very popular with adults, particularly joggers and cyclists, who use them as a temporary respite from the heat, Loubert said.
Delayed by the province’s three-step COVID-19 reopening framework, wading pools opened Monday, although they aren’t as popular as spray pads, Loubert said.
“Springbank wading pool is always our busiest and that has proven to be the case again (Monday),” she said.
